ARAB 24 portal publishes article on centenary of Azerbaijan’s independence

The UAE-based ARAB 24 portal has published an article by journalist Sumiya Saad headlined “Azerbaijan marks 100th anniversary of its independence”.

The article highlights a spectacular military parade with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev and officials from a number of foreign countries held in Azerbaijan, which marks the centennial of its independence.

Pointing to the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the journalist says that 20 per cent of the Azerbaijani territories were occupied as a result of Armenia’s policy of aggression. In the article, the Arab journalist also draws the readers` attention to the regular violation of ceasefire agreement, which was achieved between the two countries in 1994, saying Armenia fails to fulfill the resolutions adopted by international organizations.

The article also highlights Azerbaijan’s huge hydrocarbon resources, pointing out the country’s industrial and agricultural potential. Azerbaijan’s tourism potential, its attractive nature, ancient history and historical monuments were also hailed in the article.

The beaty of Azerbaijan’s capital city Baku, magnificent hotels, Little Venice, Heydar Aliyev Center, Art and Carpet museums in the city are also highlighted in the article. The article notes that Azerbaijan hosted a number of prestigious events, including the Islamic Solidarity Games and the European Games.
