Baku calls upon international community to exert pressure on Armenia

Official Baku is interested in an early peaceful settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and calls upon the international community to exert pressure on Yerevan aiming at peace-enforcement, is said in the statement of the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on the 25th anniversary of the occupation of Shusha by Armenia.

Azerbaijan, in fulfillment of its obligations in accordance with the international law, calls upon the international community to exert serious political and diplomatic pressure on Armenia so that it will put an end to the occupation and withdraw its forces from the Azerbaijani territories and make appreciable efforts in the negotiations” is stated in the document published by Interfax.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stressed that Baku is the most interested party in the soonest settlement of the conflict through negotiations and ensuring a lasting peace in the region.

“If the negotiations do not lead to the end of the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, Azerbaijan reserves the right to ensure its sovereignty and territorial integrity within the boundaries generally recognized at the international level, as noted in the UN Charter” the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stressed.
