Dubai launches AI-powered app featuring smart advisor ‘Rashid’

Smart Dubai has revamped their government application, Dubai Now, which connected all of Dubai’s government entities to make serving residents quicker and easier.

They have now introduced artificial intelligence to the app, adding the ‘smart city advisor’ named Rashid who can answer any government-related questions, the Khaleej Times reported.

Residents can now access the service from their smartphones by using the platform to ask Rashid any question, be it typed or voiced in Arabic and English, the newspaper added.

“Inspired by this forward-thinking vision, we strive to provide an integrated portfolio of services that embrace artificial intelligence and other advanced Fourth-Industrial-Revolution technologies to improve quality of life for people in the emirate, and to achieve the required progress for Dubai to become the smartest and happiest city in the world,” the newspaper reported Aisha bin Bishr, director general of the Smart Dubai Office, as saying.

The app provides private sector and government services, and allows users to organize the services and interface according to their preference. Residents can pay water and electricity bills through the app, as well as pay for petrol at ENOC gas stations.

Since its launch, more than 750,000 customers have downloaded the application, the Khaleej Times reported.
