Erdogan: Putin does not hold any particular hopes for a solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

The President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan commented on the results of his visits to Russia, Kuwait and Qatar during a meeting with journalists.

Turkish President noted that the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement process was also discussed at the meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, APA reports quoting star.com.tr..

“We discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with Mr.Putin. Russia has influence over Armenia. There are decisions taken earlier on 5 of the 7 occupied regions (referring to the UN Security Council resolutions on the occupation of the territory of Azerbaijan by Azerbaijan – star.com.tr). We noted the importance of implementing these decisions. Mr. Putin considers this to be possible, but, as far as I understand, he does not hold any particular hopes. Perhaps this is due to the relationship between the parties.”

It should be noted that the meeting between the Presidents of Turkey and Russia was held on November 13 in Sochi.

The leaders of Russia, Iran and Turkey will meet in Sochi on November 22.
