UAE’s National Media Council accuses Qatar of politicizing beIN Sports

The UAE’s National Media Council praised Saudi Arabia’s measures to combat piracy and protect copyrights and voiced its rejection of any piracy or illegal broadcast that violates any state’s rules and regulations.

A statement issued by the council praised the Saudi ministry of information’s efforts to confront the pirate network beoutQ and condemned Qatar’s relentless attempts to involve Saudi Arabia in the beoutQ case, adding that such a stance comes in response to the anti-terror quartet’s boycott of Doha.

It added that it is also a cover up for Qatar’s failure to solve the piracy issue.

The council added that it understands the reasons which made Saudi Arabia prohibit the broadcast of beIN Sports of Al-Jazeera network in the kingdom since it’s become a platform for terrorists to spread their message and ‘promote terrorism.’

It also condemned beIN Sports approach of involving politics in sports, noting that beIN Sports did not only adopt this approach against Saudi Arabia but also against a number of Arab countries.
