Algeria Strongly Condemns Saudi Arabia Attacks

Algeria condemns in the strongest possible terms the terrorist attacks that have targeted Saudi Arabia’s cities ofJeddah, Medina and Qatif on Monday, dubbing them “cowardly act.”

“Algeria, which has been in the vanguard of the fight against terrorism, making made huge sacrifices, cannot but condemn in the strongest terms this cowardly act, which in no way corresponds to the customs of our societies and the values of our religion,” said Minister of state, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra, on the sidelines of a ceremony marking the 53rd anniversary of Algeria’s independence.

The Foreign Minister said “terrorism has chosen to hit one of the holiest places of Islam at this special time when all eyes of the Muslim community, are directed to the holy places to glorify the values of our religion which sanctifies human life.””Muslims are the first target of the blind terrorism which is threatening all mankind.”

Lamamra called the Muslim community to join efforts and “condemn all that may distort the way the rest of the world perceive our religion.”
