At present, in the military aspect, Ukraine concerns Moscow much less than Syria or Karabakh. In Syria things don’t go as planned and even Syria peoples’ congress in Sochi had to be postponed to February. This is another show for the elections. No matter how many times they have saved Assad – all is in vain. The references to his legitimacy don’t convince anybody. Hitler, Mussolini and Saddam Hussein had been far more legitimate characters, but that didn’t stop anybody. The legitimacy of the State Duma is a subject of controversy because of the elections in Crimea. This is reported by the Ukrainian historian Sergei Klimovsky in his article for “Obozrevatel” portal.
“But unpredictable Karabakh is of the greatest concern to Moscow. “The gun” they hung there 20 years ago might go off this winter, without waiting for the elections in Russia. Unlike the Ukrainian army, the Azerbaijani army doesn’t need to storm large cities – population of Karabakh and occupied regions is no more than 150 thousands. Baku is tempted to repeat “the April war”, to conclude this matter once and for all, and it is not a fact that Sargsyan and Armenia’s army will be very resistant. On November 27 the following news item appeared: Baku refused to accept the new Ambassador of Russia Georgy Zuyev due to his, supposedly, strong pro-Armenian position. This is not a severance of diplomatic relations, but a clear allusion: Baku is done waiting.
Moscow’s “delaying tactics” glitches in Karabakh, but currently works in Ukraine” the author believes.
