You will not be able to use Dubai’s government service offices on Thursday for services that can be done online.
The day-long initiative was approved by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai and is designed to boost the use of government apps and e-services.
Transactions that need to be completed in person will still be available, while service centres will be taking calls to guide people about the online services available.
Apart from the ease of using these online services, it also reduces pressure on government departments and eases traffic congestion around key administrative centres.
“The Department of Finance plays a key role towards achieving Dubai’s vision and strategy aiming to realise full smart transformation in the emirate,” said the department’s director general, Abdulrahman Al Saleh. “I call on all government service entities in Dubai to enhance such constructive co-operation to make ‘A Day without Service Centres’ initiative a success.”
