Azerbaijani armed forces started NATO evaluation exercise

Within the framework of the NATO Operational Capabilities Concept (OCC) Program, another NATO evaluation exercise level-2 (NEL2) is being held with participation of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces’ infantry battalion.

As reported on the website of the Defense Ministry, the OCC battalion of Azerbaijan successfully passed the NATO evaluation exercise level-2 in 2014 and received the NATO certificate “Combat Ready”. Currently, approximately 700 personnel, 80 military vehicles and 4 helicopters are involved in field exercise at the Garaheybat Training Center to confirm the certificate.

The evaluation is conducted by the multinational evaluation team and monitored by Monitor Team representing NATO Land Command.

The exercise will last until 2 June.
