Azerbaijan is not only a strategic partner of Israel, but also an example of interreligious and interethnic tolerance. This was said by Israeli Defense Minister, former Foreign Minister of the country Avigdor Lieberman in his congratulatory speech on the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Israel, Trend reports.

According to Lieberman, friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Israel are becoming more and more long-lasting and strong, which undoubtedly benefit both countries.

Lieberman noted that the cooperation between countries is based on mutual interests.

“I am very pleased with the fact that I personally happened to have visited the root of the relations between our countries. I am proud to have had the opportunity to have contributed to positive development and strengthening of our relations. During my repeated visits to Azerbaijan, I have felt at home. I have met with a number of officials, and first of all with President Ilham Aliyev, which allowed us to significantly strengthen cooperation in such areas as high technology, agriculture, energy and many other areas” Lieberman said.

According to the Minister of Defense of Israel, the Jewish community living in Azerbaijan has always felt itself in a safe and friendly environment.

“This community has played and continues to play the role of a solid bridge between the two countries, as well as people from Azerbaijan living in Israel” Lieberman said.

The politician expressed the hope that the dynamics of bilateral relations will continue to strengthen, also thanks to the efforts of the International Association Azerbaijan-Israel (AzIz), which plays an important role in maintaining relations between the two countries.

Lieberman noted that 25 years of relations is only the beginning of the road. He also expressed the hope that the two countries will cooperate closely and beneficially for many years to come.

Lieberman wished Azerbaijan and Israel peace, well-being and prosperity.
