At least five people were wounded in an explosion near a police station in the Yenibosna neighborhood of Istanbul on the afternoon of Oct. 6, private broadcaster CNN Türk has reported.
The cause of the blast that hit near the local police station was not immediately clear.
According to the Doğan News Agency, the blast occurred inside a vehicle, heavily injuring one person.
Windows of the houses near the scene were broken and vehicles were damaged due to the blast.
Police are reportedly searching for one suspect in the surrounding area.
The site of the blast is close to a police station, military recruiting office, and forensic medicine institution.
Istanbul Governor Vasip Şahin tweeted that the blast was caused by the detonation of a bomb-laden motorcycle.
