In the near future Israel will supply Azerbaijan with “Iron Dome” missile defense system. This was announced to 1news.az by Milli Mejlis deputy Yevda Abramov.

According to him, this armament is ready to be delivered to Azerbaijan.

“The system will not allow the “Iskander” missiles hit the ground”, – he pointed out.

Earlier, in Yerevan, during a military parade held in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s formal independence, the “Iskander” ballistic missiles system was also demonstrated along with various types of Russian military equipment.

He also pointed out that in the near future, the Azerbaijani army will replenish with the latest strategic long-range weapons.

“Unmanned aerial vehicles sold by Israel to Azerbaijan, which were used in the fighting in April this year, created a lot of panic in Armenia”, – the MP pointed out and stressed that “Iron Dome” will also incite fear among Armenians.

“Iron Dome” – tactical missile defense system designed to protect against uncontrolled tactical missiles with a range from 4 to 70 kilometers.

This system was developed by the Israeli company Rafael.

Each artillery battery can protect an area of 150 square kilometers.

The first artillery battery was operationally deployed in March 2011, and in July 2014 9 batteries were put on alert throughout Israel.

By the end of 2014 the “Iron Dome” systems successfully shot down 1200 missiles. There is anonymous information about potential plans to increase the range to 250 km.

Rafael reports that the “Iron Dome” system can shoot down planes at an altitude of 10 km.
