Iranians angered over Assad’s daughter’s participation in a horse riding competition

Iranian activists took to social media to express their anger over the participation of Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad’s daughter in a horse riding competition in Tehran.

Thirteen-year-old Zine Al-Sham won in the children’s category, the secretary of Iran’s Equestrian Federation has told Iranian news.

Activists said Al-Sham’s participation in the event was an insult to the many Iranians who lost loved ones in Syria. They posted images of Iranians who were killed in Syria along with photos for Al-Sham during the competition saying Al-Assad’s decision to send his daughter out of the country shows his disregard for the Iranians who have been killed.
