Arab Parliament pays tribute to late founding father of UAE

Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Ahmed Al Jarwan, said the United Arab Emirates continues to make progress as an advanced nation, thanks to the legacy left behind by the founding father of the UAE federation and its positive policies, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

In a statement on the occasion of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, he described Sheikh Zayed as a historical Arab leader whose achievements are recognised across the world.

“Sheikh Zayed’s insightful vision for a unified state has transformed the UAE into a national and pan-Arab model for how to realise the aspirations for prosperity and development. His philanthropic deeds were not limited to the UAE; rather they spilled over into all Arab countries and beyond. All Arabs respect and love this historical figure,” the speaker of the pan-Arab body said.

Al Jarwan further noted that President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, continue to uphold the legacy of prosperity and growth left behind by the late founder of the state.

The Zayed Humanitarian Work Day is observed in the UAE on the 19th day of Ramadan every year in memory of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who passed away on this day in 2004.
