His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has termed Dubai International Airport as the ‘Gate of Peace’ that links East and West.

Touring the airport’s facilities and reviewing the processes on Monday, Shaikh Mohammed also said the airport serves a window through which people around the world look to gain a glimpse of the UAE and learn about its culture and deep-rooted civilisation.

During his tour, Shaikh Mohammed enquired about passenger traffic and facilities provided by the entities concerned.

Shaikh Mohammad, accompanied by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and CEO of Emirates airlines and group, checked on the comfort and safety of the airport’s users.

He visited Terminal 3 dedicated to Emirates airlines where he viewed the travel procedures and the completion of passengers’ transactions on board the Emirates’ fleet of aircraft.

He enquired about travel procedures and expressed his satisfaction with the record time in which they are completed.

He then stopped at the Operation Room jointly run by Emirates airline and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners’ Affairs (GDRFA). Work at the Operation Room showed the serious coordination and partnership between the two organisations in serving passengers and saving their time and effort as well as ensuring their comfort and completing transactions fast.

Shaikh Mohammad listened to a presentation by Major-General Obaid Muhair Al Ketbi, Deputy Director-General of GDRFA, on the importance of the room, which is dedicated to processing and analysing passengers’ data electronically.

He then visited Concourse A and B in Terminal 3 which are connected by Dubai Metro.

Shaikh Mohammad expressed his satisfaction with the travel procedures and luggage inspection and stamping of passports and good treatment offered to the passengers by the airport staff. On the final leg of his tour, Shaikh Mohammad stopped at Dubai Duty Free and viewed its working and competitive prices offered for its departing clients.
