Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud and Malaysia’s Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak engaged in what some are calling “selfie-diplomacy”.

The Malaysian prime minister tweeted a photo of himself and the Saudi monarch while they were being transported between events in Kuala Lumpur.

King Salman’s month-long Asia tour will see him visit Indonesia, Brunei, Japan, China, the Maldives and Jordan “to meet with the leaders of those countries to discuss bilateral relations and regional and international issues of common concern”.
