A woman claims she was raped by two men pretending to be prospective employers.
Prosecutors told Dubai Court of First Instance that on May 23 last year, the 31-year old Filipina posted her resume on the internet as she was looking for a job.
She claims that one of the defendants called her and asked to meet to discuss a vacancy.
The woman said she waited for him at a bus stop in Bur Dubai and he arrived at 4pm with the second defendant in a car. Both men are Pakistani.
The Filipina told the court: “They asked me about my former job then told me that we were going to their company for an interview.
“One of them sat beside me and started touching my body. I fought with him and punched him in the face and he used the taser gun and threatened to kill me.”
The woman said the men took her to the desert and raped her after tying her hands with a belt.
She claimed they kept driving the car until the early hours of the morning while she was tied up.
“We reached a construction area where I managed to escape. I told him that I will let him have sex with me and they removed the belt but then I ran towards some workers and asked for help and the men fled,” the woman added.
The defendants, aged 30 and 32, deny kidnap, rape, robbery and threatening to kill the woman.
The trial has been adjourned to hear from the defence.
