“Relations with the US have reached a new level of cooperation. We’re glad that the US-Azerbaijani relations already capture the essence”. President Ilham Aliyev said this at the expanded session of Government, devoted to the social-economic development of Azerbaijan in the first half of 2018.
He recalled that he received three letters from his American counterpart in April-May this year, in which the US President expressed the interest in comprehensive development of relations.
The Head of State also noted the strategic level of the relations with the EU countries. “We work with the EU on a new agreement. Moreover, we have agreement on strategy cooperation with a third of the EU countries, which is an indication of our relations”, he noted.
The President also expressed his satisfaction with the country’s foreign policy. We have strengthened our international positions in the first half of the year. We have good relations with the neighboring countries; they rely on good-neighboring relations, based on the principles of non-intervention in the internal affairs, mutual trust and respect”.
