Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia Elmar Mammadyarov and Zograb Mnatsakanyan discussed another steps to achieve progress in negotiations to settle the Karabakh conflict on their first meeting in Brussels on Wednesday, according to the spokesman of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan.
According to his words, the meeting lasted for about four hours. “The negotiation process was extensively discussed and the continuation of the existing format of negotiations was noted during the meeting. Moreover, they exchanged views on another steps to push forward the negotiation process”, – Hajiyev said.
He also added that the plan activity of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmen was also discussed at the meeting.
This was the first meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the two countries, since the change of Government in Armenia.
The meeting was held with the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs (Igor Popov of the Russian Federation, Stefan Visconti of France and Andrew Schofer of the United States of America), spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Hikmat Hajiyev said.
