Khalid Al-Falih: Saudi Arabia interested in investing in Hyperloop

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Khalid Al-Falih described the world’s largest solar power project, in partnership with Softbank, as a vision for the future.

Al-Falih, in an interview with Al Arabiya, as he accompanied Saudi Crown Prince Prince Mohammed bin Salman during his visit to Los Angeles, said that the project comes within the Kingdom’s vision and determination to achieve global objectives for the coming 20 years.

Al Falih also spoke about Saudi Arabia’s interest in partnering in the Hyperloop project, if proven of value.

He said that the Crown Prince wants Saudi Arabia as a partner in the HyperLoop experience, he pointed out that the HyperLoop technology has proved successful on a smaller scale but needs to reduce cost and checked for longer distances.

He said the gains would be for those who took reasonable risks.

As for the petrochemical sector, Al-Falih pointed out that the next stop for the Saudi Crown Prince will be in Houston and part of it will be allocated to Prince Mohammed bin Salman supervision of what companies such as Aramco and SABIC are doing in petrochemicals, whether in America or Saudi Arabia.
