Iranian border guards will handle ‘simultaneous naval patrols’ with Qatar

Commander of the Iranian border guards, Brigadier General Qassim Rezaie, is currently visiting Qatar and said in a statement that there is “good and growing border cooperation between Iran and Qatar.”

He told IRNA news agency that there is cooperation between the Iranian border forces and the Qatari side to carry out “simultaneous naval patrols.”

He added that his current visit to Doha is a continuation of the efforts to “consolidate further border relations between the two countries.”

According to him, the Gulf is “related to all riparian states, which requires more joint cooperation to manage this maritime area.”
Brigadier General Qassimi and his delegation arrived in Doha on Monday for the 14th round of border talks between Iran and Qatar.
