The Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) has launched one of its fastest responders, a sports car that travels at a speed of 200kmph.

Speaking to Khaleej Times on the sidelines of Arab Health 2018, a representative of Dubai Ambulance said that the new sports car was launched last month and would be used both on and off road.

The car was on display at Arab Health but will be stationed at City Walk.

“We are trying to see where this car is beneficial and will increase the numbers in future if required,” said the rep.

The Advanced Responders, as it is called, is equipped with first aid boxes and requirements that are needed by ambulances.

Recently, the DCAS launched its bicycle ambulance. Khalifa Al Drai, executive director of the DCAS, said the service continues to quickly respond to urgent incidents and emergencies for pregnant ladies and children younger than 11 years old. He explained that the DCAS received good feedback about the service, which is available for women and aims at protecting their privacy in accordance with the Arabic culture and traditions.

Al Drai said that the initiative is part of improving the DCAS services and to meet the necessary needs of people in crowded places. He emphasised that the DCAS is monitoring the people’s needs by carefully reading the ambulances’ reports, which aim at following the development of all Dubai institutions.
