Another blow to Armenia: Parliamentary Assembly supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan

The meeting of the 50th General Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) was held in Kyiv on November 29, haqqin.az informs referring to the BSEC site.

The Ukrainian side, as an organizer, didn’t invite Russian parliamentarians to the event. The Armenian delegation, in its turn, boycotted the meeting of the Assembly.  The occasion for the demarche was the amendment to the final declaration, proposed by Ukraine: “It is necessary to contribute to the restoration of the territorial integrity of the BSEC States, recognized by international organizations, such as UN, OSCE, PACE, EP, as illegally annexed” – contained in the declaration.

The declaration was adopted on the occasion of 25th anniversary of the establishment of BSEC.

The amendments were made on the proposal of the Ukrainian delegation.

BSEC Vice-President, the Head of the Ukrainian delegation Lyudmila Denisova congratulated the participants: “Our efforts to restore the territorial integrity were supported by the majority of national delegations of BSEC” – she claimed.

The BSEC resolution has stirred up a storm of outrage in Armenia. The Armenian Government is discussing the withdrawal of their country from BSEC.
