BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:40 P.M.) – Two large brigades from the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) elite 4th Mechanized Division are being redeployed from central Syria to the Deir Ezzor Governorate, a military source told Al-Masdar this afternoon.
According to the source, the 39th and 40th brigades were given instructions from the Syrian High Command to redeploy from the eastern countryside of the Hama Governorate to Deir Ezzor, where they will partake in the ongoing operations against the so-called Islamic State (ISIS).
The 39th and 40th brigades led the operations against the Islamic State in the Hama pocket of central Syria for the last two months and they have proven to be a powerful force against the terrorist group.

With the addition of the 39th and 40th brigades to Deir Ezzor, the provincial capital and Al-‘Umar Oil Fields should be liberated in the coming weeks, as the surplus of manpower and military equipment should provide a major boost to the forces already deployed there.
