Pakistan to take measures to counter Daesh in Afghanistan

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nafees Zakaria at his weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday said these measures include effective border control and management.

He pointed out that there are ungoverned territories in Afghanistan and Daesh and other terrorist outfits are gaining grounds there.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of precious human lives due to recent terrorist attacks in brotherly neighbour Afghanistan. We condemn these terrorist attacks, sympathize with the victims’ families and pray for early recovery of those who sustained injuries,” he said.

The spokesman rejected remarks of Indian External Affairs Minister against Pakistan and said our sacrifices and losses in the war against terror are unmatched.

To a question, he said Pakistan wants to have sustained, meaningful and result-oriented dialogue with India that addresses all issues particularly the Jammu and Kashmir.

Nafees Zakaria said peace in the region is not possible without resolving the Kashmir dispute.
