Four armed robbers escape with $2 million in Istanbul

Four armed robbers escaped with a total of $2 million in the Bakırköy district of Istanbul on Aug. 14 after blocking a car with three people on board.

Three unidentified people had gotten in a car with a bag holding $2 million at around 8 a.m. in the Florya neighborhood. Four armed robbers blocked the car after it went from the garage and stole the bag.

Mehmet Gü, a witness near the scene, attempted to chase the robbers but was slightly injured after they shot him. He was taken to the hospital.

Police have launched an examination of the bullet-hit car, conducting work to apprehend the armed robbers.
