Six Arab states appealed to FIFA with a call to deprive Qatar of the right to host the World Cup in football in 2022. This is reported by the Reuters agency.

FIFA head Gianni Infantino said that Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Mauritania, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt said that Qatar can not ensure the safety of fans at the proper level of the sport event, as it is a “base for terrorists”.

“These countries have warned the FIFA about the risks for fans and players in Qatar,” Infantino said.

And also these countries threatened to boycott the championship otherwise.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt broke off diplomatic relations with Qatar, accusing its leadership of supporting terrorism and interfering in the internal affairs of other states. Later, they appealed to Doha with an ultimatum of 13 points, the implementation of which would, in their opinion, allow normalizing the situation. Qatar considers these requirements unacceptable.
