Russia’s company plans to showcase new jet at Dubai Airshow

Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) plans to show its MC-21 passenger jet at the Dubai Air Show in fall 2017, said a senior official.

Plans are in place to demonstrate the MC-21 at major airshows, UAC president Yuri Slyusar, was quoted as saying in a Tass News Agency report.

The maiden flight of the MC-21-300 commercial aircraft took place this week.

It was reported earlier Aeroflot has plans to have 50 MC-21 jets in its fleet.

UAC hopes to obtain the certificate of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for its MC-21 passenger jet in 2020.

Slyusar stated that the certificate of the Interstate Aviation Committee will be received in 2019.

Availability of this certificate will entitle UAC to perform international deliveries of the new aircraft, added the report.
