Dubai: Bentley uses NASA tech to promote Bentley Flying Spur W12 S – Video

Bentley Motors recently unveiled a pioneering Gigapixel photograph – touted as one of the most detailed landscape images ever produced.

The focus of the photograph is a Bentley Flying Spur W12 S parked in the luxury surroundings of the marina of Dubai.

Incredible technology

The Gigapixel image produced using groundbreaking NASA-derived technology allows viewers to zoom in and out and explore and experience the city panorama in intricate detail.

The camera was suspended 264 metres up the Cayan Tower in Dubai to capture the image. A total of 57.7 billion pixels were carefully stitched together to create a single image that also balanced light levels painstakingly across each pixel.

The intricate process took 48 hours and 1,825 frames to create. Saving the image to a disk took a further 18 hours.

Zoom in and the image will take you in sharp focus, through the landscape, right up to the bonnet badge of the Flying Spur.

One can also explore the Flying Spur W12 S inside and out with a 360-degree film narrated by John Paul Gregory, Bentley’s head of exterior design.
