Palestine: 92-year-old man becomes father for 13th time

A 92-year-old man from the West Bank city of Hebron is a proud father after his wife, who is 50 years his junior, recently delivered a healthy baby girl.

Mahmoud al-Adam and his wife, 42-year-old Abeer, named the baby Tamara.

Abeer, who is deaf, married Adam a few years ago after his first wife passed away.

“I now have eight daughters and five sons,” he said, according to Al-Arabiya. “It was such a surprise to have a baby at this age but this is God’s will.”

According to the Guiness Book of Records the oldest man to father a baby was Les Colley who in 1998 had his ninth child, a boy named Oswald, at the age of 92 years and 10 months.

But various news sites credit Ramjit Raghav as the oldest man to father a child. He had his first son at 94 and his second in 2012 at the age of 96. His wife left him in 2013.

In December Mick Jagger, lead singer for the Rolling Stones, became a father for the eighth time at the age of 73. Jagger, a great-grandfather, and his 29-year-old girlfriend had their first son together in New York.
