Mosul: Over 20 dead bodies remain under destroyed houses – Video

Over 20 bodies remain under destroyed houses in one of the recently liberated neighborhoods of Mosul where residents complain about the odor.

Kurdistan24 correspondent Hemin Dalo walks through the Samah neighborhood located in northeastern Mosul.

The area was liberated two months ago by the Iraqi security forces, but the residents complain about the lack of services.

According to people in the neighborhood, the Islamic State’s (IS) suicide car bombs have damaged and destroyed many houses in the area.

“There are plenty of dead bodies that remain under the ruined houses,” one of the residents told Kurdistan24.

On Oct. 17, 2016, Iraqi and Peshmerga forces launched a military operation to retake the city of Mosul from the extremist group which was occupied in June 2014.

The forces have liberated half of the city and preparations are underway to resume the operation and free the western side of Mosul.
