On December 2, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Azerbaijan has organized an official reception in honor of the national holiday of the country – Independence Day.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Mohammed Hamel Al Qubaisi talked about the history of Independence Day and the UAE’s development.

Speaking about the cooperation with Azerbaijan, diplomat noted his country’s interest in developing and deepening of relations with Azerbaijan.

The diplomat said that this year, in comparison with the previous one, the number of tourists visiting Azerbaijan from the UAE increased by 100 times.

The event was also attended by the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev, who congratulated the UAE representatives on the national holiday.

The Minister said that in the nearest future there will be a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on cooperation to be held in the UAE.

“The UAE’s investments in non-oil sector of Azerbaijan totaled $659 million, and Azerbaijan, in turn, invested $100 million in the UAE”, – he said, noting that the cooperation between the two countries in the tourism sector has accelerated in recent years.

 Let us recall that on December 2 the United Arab Emirates celebrates its Independence Day, which is celebrated since 1971 – the date of the foundation of the state.
