Azerbaijani air authorities did not let the Russian military-transport aircraft IL-76 to fly through its airspace, thus the aircraft was forced to return to the departure airport in Sochi.
Judging by the conversation between the command center and the pilot, published by a blogger GalandecZP, IL-76 was flying in the “Syrian” direction towards Armenia.
“You cannot make it to Yerevan. Azerbaijan won’t let. Overflight is prohibited”, – a dispatcher notes. Then, the crew is instructed to return to the airport of destination.
“The end is fair – a return to the departure aerodrome. But they were allowed before. Or maybe they carry something forbidden”, – the blogger commented on the incident.
IL-76 crew has been instructed to return to Sochi, upon leaving Rostov airspace. By now, the aircraft has landed at the Sochi airport, as evidenced by a photo posted on Twitter.
