Saudi authorities arrested a man accused of making the explosive belt that was used in a terrorist attack at the Al-Sadeq Mosque in Kuwait last year.
The man was arrested at a checkpoint when he raised suspicions after he tried to escape. He was arrested along with another fugitive following a brief chase, then transported to a maximum security prison, said sources with knowledge of the case.
Saudi and Kuwaiti authorities are currently coordinating with regards to the suspect’s extradition to Kuwait for trial, the sources said.
