Air raid sirens sounded in various Israeli communities in the southern Golan Heights on Tuesday morning.
The cause of the sirens’ activation was not initially known. The IDF said it was checking the background of the incident.
Earlier in the week, the IDF targeted an Daesh-linked cell in Syria that had attempted to attack Israeli forces in the southern Golan region.
On Monday morning, the IDF struck Daesh targets across the Syrian border after a Sunday attack by the Daesh-linked Khaled Ibn al-Walid Brigade (formerly known as the Yarmouk Martyrs Brigade) against the Israeli Golani Reconnaissance Battalion operating near the border.
On Sunday, the IAF struck the extremist cell, killing four militants after they had opened small arms fire and mortar fire at Israeli soldiers.
No IDF soldiers were hurt in the cross-border incident.
