One Turkish soldier has been killed and three others have been injured during clashes in northern Syria, as part of Operation Euphrates Shield to clear Turkey’s borders off of Daish terrorists, military sources said on Wednesday.

According to the sources, the clashes took place in Ziyara, which is located east of moderate opposition controlled al-Rai, when Daish terrorists attempted to infiltrate the area.

18 Daish terrorists were killed in clashes, the sources said, and added that 75 Daish terrorist targets have been shelled 221 times.

Since the start of the operation, a total of 1,875 targets have been shelled over 7,100 times and a total of 115 residential areas (up to 980 kilometers) have been taken under control by the Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA).

Turkey launched Operation Euphrates Shield in cooperation with the Free Syrian Army (FSA) on Aug. 24 to clear its southern border of Daish terrorists and liberate northern Syrian towns from the terrorist group. In less than a day, the FSA, backed by the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) liberated Jarablus and continued marching from the east and the west.
