Assad wants to have dialogue with militants in Syria

Dialogue with the armed groups in Syria is possible, if it stops bloodshed in the country, said the Syrian President Bashar Assad in an interview with the Iranian newspaper, reports the SANA.

Asked about a possibility of dialogue with armed groups, he said: “Speaking of the possibility of an epilogue with armed [opposition] groups, which would surrender their arms, I should say — yes.” According to him, the dialogue stems from the interests of people and is done for the sake of stopping the bloodshed. Thus, everyone who has decided to lay down arms is granted with amnesty.
