Three village guards killed in PKK attack in eastern Turkey

Three village guards were killed in an armed clash that erupted after outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants conducted an attack in the Yüksekova district of eastern province of Hakkari early on Sept. 29.

The clashes occurred as the guards were patrolling in the Büyükçiftlik area of Yüksekova.

Two village guards were also injured in the clash, according to Anadolu Agency.

Operations were subsequently launched to capture the militants.
