The Admissions Department at Qatar University (QU) held an orientation event for new students for Fall 2016 to familiarise them with programmes, resources, facilities, services, academic and extra-curricular activities and rules and regulations.
The students were provided with the opportunity to gain information that would ease their transition into the new academic environment.
They participated in activities to get acquainted with colleagues and toured the campus and its facilities.
The event also included an exhibition featuring booths set up by Academic Excellence Programme; Career Services Centre; Centre for Academic Advising; Housing Department; Inclusion & Special Needs Support Centre; Information Technology Department; Medical Clinic; Parents Programme; QU Library; Scholarships & Partnerships Office; Student Activities Department; Student Affairs Sector; Student Counselling Centre; Student Representative Board; Student Services Department; and Transportation Services. Orientation continues until Thursday.
Dr. Khalid Al Khanji, Vice-President, Student Affairs, QU, welcomed the students and wished them a successful academic journey. The main purpose behind organising this event is to provide our new students with the opportunity to gain information on QU’s programmes and services, assist them with any personal, financial, and housing questions or issues and give them the chance to get involved in the QU community.”
