Dubai’s first luxury dine-in cinema announced

If you’re looking for new experiences from your next visit to the cinema and IMAX 3D glasses don’t cut it anymore, rest assured that this awesome concept will redefine movie going for you.

Master developer Nakheel has announced it is partnering up with Reel Cinemas for a five-screen luxury movie and entertainment centre at The Pointe, the Dhs800 million waterfront dining and leisure destination on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah.

Although neither have released images yet of what the cinema complex will look like (the picture above is of Mumbai’s Big Cinemas), Time Out has scoured the net searching for already existing luxury and dine-in cinemas and this is what we’ve found.

“Our partnership with Reel Cinemas reflects our vision for The Pointe: to bring Palm Jumeirah alive with a vibrant destination that offers Dubai’s residents and tourists the very best in dining and entertainment,” Omar Khoory, director, Nakheel Retail, told Arabian Business.

As for The Pointe itself, it’s located at the tip of Palm Jumeirah (across the bay from Atlantis The Palm) and spans an area of 1.4 million square feet.

It will feature fountain shows, a 1.5 km promenade and nearly 150 restaurants and retail outlets.

The Pointe will also be accessible via The Palm Monorail, which is connected to the Dubai Tram and Dubai Metro, as well as by boat from Palm Jumeirah’s growing number of resorts.
