An Emirates flight from Australia has been delayed by two days after the airline suffered its second “technical fault” this week.
Emirates flight EK435 was scheduled to depart Brisbane on Thursday, but instead will now take-off 43 hours later on Saturday at 4pm, according to the airline’s website.
Emirates told Gulf News on Thursday the flight had been delayed “due to a technical fault”.
Emirates did not say what the fault was, but it is the second time this week that a technical fault has affected the airline’s services.
On Wednesday, Gulf News reported that Emirates flight EK652 to the Maldives diverted to the Indian city of Mumbai, which the airline also said was due to an unspecified technical fault.
Indian media reported that smoke was detected on board the aircraft, a claim that Emirates has not addressed.
Passengers affected by the delayed Brisbane flight have been rebooked on Emirates services on Friday and Saturday, the airline said.
Emirates flies to Brisbane twice a day.
“Emirates apologises for the inconvenience caused. The safety of our passengers and crew is of the utmost importance,” the airline said.
