Dubai Police arrested a 35-year-old woman and her lover, after her husband complained that she was cheating on him.

The man, an airline steward, informed police that his wife was staying with her lover at a hotel in Dubai.

Police raided the hotel, and arrested the two on charges of adultery.

When questioned, the woman said that the lover was a family friend and that their affair began three years ago when he started sympathising with her about husband’s ill treatment of her.

She told police that her husband was abusive to her and claimed that she had previously asked him for a divorce which he had refused to grant her.

Investigation revealed that the alleged lover, a 39-year-old accountant, had been a friend of the family for nine years and was himself also divorced.

The couple have an eight-year-old son together.
