Al-Qassam Brigades has pledged to free all Palestinian prisoners who are being held in Israeli jails,Quds Press reported yesterday.
In a report published on its website, Al-Qassam Brigades said: “The [Israeli] enemy is confused and will remain confused despite all the technology and intelligence equipment it has. It will not get any piece of information about its soldiers, who are currently kept in an unknown place.”
On 20 July 2014, Al-Qassam detained an Israeli soldier from the battlefield in the east of Gaza city when 14 others were killed. It has not given any information about his location or whether he is alive or dead.
A couple of days later, Al-Qassam announced that it had kidnapping another Israeli soldier in the city of Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip.
Two other soldiers entered the Gaza Strip after the 2014 Israeli offensive and are currently in the hands of Al-Qassam Brigades.
In 2006, Al-Qassam kidnapped an Israeli soldier along the eastern borders of Gaza and reached a prisoner swap deal with Israeli in 2011. Israel released more than 1,000 Palestinian prisoners in return for the release of the Israeli soldier.
