Two Kurdish members of ISIS terrorist group have been killed in southwestern Kirkuk, said the Kirkuk police directorate in a statement on Wednesday.
The statement revealed that Abu Ayoub al-Kurdi and Smo Pshtiwan Talabani were eliminated by the US-led coalition warplanes in Hawija, where at least six ISIS positions were targeted.
Abu Bara al-Mosuli, the ISIS commander in charge of the weapons cache in Hawija, was also killed in the airstrikes.
With the Iraqi troops advancing on the ground towards Mosul, the noose is being further tightened around ISIS in Mosul; but Hawija is yet to come under the Iraqi army’s attack.
