Nine people were killed and 30 others injured on Saturday in an Iranian attack on a camp of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan in northern Iraq, according to local media.
The attack targeted a meeting by leading members of the Iranian opposition party in the town of Koy Sanjaq, a security source told Anadolu Agency on condition of anonymity.
Party Secretary-General Mustafa Mawludi was among those injured in the attack, which was carried out by drones and rockets.
The injured were transferred to hospitals in Erbil for treatment.
Meanwhile, Iranian state T.V. aired a video showing the attack on the party’s building, saying it was carried out by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Established in 1996, the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan has been operational in Erbil.
