Azerbaijan is one of the leading suppliers of agricultural products to Russia, Andrei Vorobyov, governor of the Moscow region of Russia, told the “Russia for All” website on the sidelines of the 22nd St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), held May 24-26.

“We are very close friends and partners with Azerbaijan,” he said. “Our countries implement many big joint projects. We have good trade, economic and political relations. I am confident that additional contacts will be established among the representatives of the economic communities of our countries at the Forum and ideas for new future projects will emerge.”

Vorobyov noted that he was in Azerbaijan two years ago.

“We closely cooperate with Azerbaijan’s Agriculture Ministry,” he added. “As you know, there are a lot of markets in the Moscow region where agricultural products are sold, and Azerbaijan holds leading positions in this sphere.”
