Dubai: Dubai Municipality’s General Projects Department has completed work on a new abattoir project conforming to green building standards, it was announced.
The Lisaili Abattoir project, built on 15,000 square metres, includes offices for administrative staff, doctors and technicians, waiting halls for men and women, besides refrigerated meat storage facilities and barns to keep livestock.
“The building is a vital facility for the region and its environs to provide the best services in slaughtering livestock and storing meat according to the best international standards,” said Marwan Al Mohammad, Director of General Projects Department at the Municipality.
The project also includes roads, parking lots and external service buildings as well as a transformer, water tank and pumping room.
The project aims to implement the highest standards of quality while preserving the environment in keeping the vision of the Government of Dubai to preserve resources of the state while building a green economy and establish an environmentally sustainable city.
