UAE and Bahrain sign MoU to improve air links

The UAEs Civil Aviation Authority has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with their counterparts in Bahrain to improve transport services between the two countries.

Following a round of negotiations in Manama, Mohammed Thamer Al Kaabi, under-secretary of Bahrain’s Ministry of Civil Aviation Affairs, said that the draft agreement “represents a qualitative leap in the leap in the organisation and development of air transport services between the two countries”, adding that it would also provide a legal framework regarding security and safety requirements.

“It will create opportunities for cooperation between the airlines of both countries to ensure the provision of distinct air transport services and alternative options for travel for all citizens and residents,” he added.

Dozens of flights depart from the UAE to Bahrain each day, including 17 from Dubai, seven from Abu Dhabi and two from Sharjah.
