A number of traditional coffee shops near Arvand River, in Southern Iran, were shut down due to what Abadan’s SSF considered as being against the law.
Notably, this year, all the places that offered hookahs were shut down by State Security Forces in Abadan due to the fact that they had turned into the hangout of Arab nationals. According to reports, the hookah shops gave services to young women and men from night to morning which promoted and spread corruption in this region, the state run ROKNA news agency reported on August 20, 2017.
Earlier this month, the SSF commander of the western province of Ilam announced that eight traditional coffee shops were sealed in this city, according to the state-run Mehr news agency report on August 12, 2017.
