A 27-year-old Emirati man was found dead inside a car that was parked in Sharjah’s Al Sajjah area. The body was found in the driver’s seat of the car which belonged to his friend.

The body was found on the first day of Eid (Sunday) around 5am. Prima facie, the police believe the deceased was assaulted as they found signs of strangulation and scars on his neck, legs and arms. A resident who was going to the mosque to offer Eid prayers found the body and ?notified the police. The police dispatched patrols, paramedics and forensic experts to the site.

The police have detained several friends and acquaintances of the deceased as part of their investigation.
